Who this covers
Thrustframe is a sole proprietor web development studio based in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what happens to it. It applies to thrustframe.com and to enquiries sent through it.
Thrustframe handles personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What is collected
Information you provide
When you submit the quote form, Thrustframe collects the information you type into it:
- Your name
- Your business name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your type of business
- Any project details you choose to write in the message field
Please do not send confidential or sensitive personal information through this form, such as financial details, health information or government ID numbers. It is not built for that.
Information collected automatically
Standard web server logs are kept by the hosting provider and may include IP address, browser type, referring page and timestamp. These are used for security and to keep the site running. If you accept analytics cookies, aggregate usage data about which pages are visited is also collected.
Why it is collected
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a quote.
- To contact you about the project you asked about.
- To keep records of quotes issued and work agreed.
- To protect the site from spam and abuse.
- To improve the site, if you have consented to analytics.
Thrustframe does not sell, rent or trade your personal information, does not add you to a marketing list from a quote request, and does not send newsletters or automated sales sequences.
Who else handles your data
A small number of service providers process data on behalf of Thrustframe:
- Formspree receives and forwards quote form submissions. Their handling is governed by the Formspree Privacy Policy. Data may be processed outside Canada, including in the United States.
- Website hosting serves the site and keeps standard access logs.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces, which are requested from Google's servers when the page loads. This discloses your IP address to Google.
- Email is handled by the Thrustframe email provider once a message arrives.
Because some providers operate outside Canada, your information may be stored or processed in another country and may be accessible to the courts and authorities of that country.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising or cross site tracking cookies.
- Essential storage. Your cookie choice is saved in your browser local storage so the banner does not reappear on every visit. Nothing else is stored and nothing is sent to a server.
- Analytics. Off by default. These run only if you choose “Accept analytics” on the cookie banner.
You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, which brings the banner back. You can also block or delete cookies entirely in your browser; the site will still work.
How long it is kept
Quote enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and, where a project goes ahead, for as long as Thrustframe needs them for business and tax records. Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted once they are no longer useful. Server logs are kept on a short rolling basis by the host.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and form submissions are encrypted in transit. Access to enquiries is limited to Thrustframe. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed, but no more information is kept than the work requires.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA you may ask Thrustframe to:
- Confirm what personal information is held about you
- Give you access to a copy of it
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Delete it, where there is no requirement to keep it
- Withdraw consent for any optional use, such as analytics
Email hello@thrustframe.com and Thrustframe will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with that response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses and is not directed at children. Thrustframe does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Links to other sites
Where this site links elsewhere, those sites have their own privacy practices and Thrustframe is not responsible for them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
